Class Project begins
Well we are off and running with our class project. The students have been paired off with a partner and have already begun assisting each other. The students are sooo excited about this idea of PAWS. We did a writing activity today with the pairs and you would not believe the improvement already from just checking with their partner. They were encouraging one another and sounding words our together. I was impressed to see such great helpers today!! :)

Isn't it amazing how first graders are so capable of helping each other? I taught first grade for several years, and my rule was "C3 B4 Me", which meant the students were to ask three friends for help before they asked me. I was always amazed at some of the solutions they would come up with at such a young age. Your project should help foster independence and responsibility in your students. I'll be interested to hear your final results.I think I'll introduce the "C3 Rule" to my 6th graders Monday morning!
